Born in 1951 in Wuhan, Hubei Province, graduated from Academy of Arts & Design, Tsinghua University as postgraduate and conferred the titles of academician of the Chinese National Academy of Arts, academician of the Royal French Academy of Fine Arts, national first-class artist, national first-class bookmaker and renowned Chinese contemporary painter, Mr. Zhang Yetian acts as Artistic Consultant of the Painting and Calligraphy Committee of the Chinese Academy of Cultural Heritage Protection under the Ministry of Culture, Chief Artistic Consultant of China National Calligraphy and Painting Web, Honorary Chairman of the Academic Committee of China Xinhua Network Art Museum, Member of the Expert Jury of Chinese Painting and Calligraphy International Market Runge Evaluation Center, Vice President of Chinese Collection Society, Vice President of Chinese Famous Painting Academy, and Honorary Dean of CPPCC Painting and Calligraphy Academy.
His design work - Tide won the first prize of Shanghai Select Commercial Building Brand Award with National Characteristics, photography work - Interest participated in the Chinese Art Five-Country Itinerant Exhibition held by Chinese Exhibition Company, and his oil paintings and sketch representative works successively won the Gold Award of Chinese Literature and Art Creation Achievement Award, the Gold Award of Chinese Culture and Art Contribution Award, Chinese Art Golden Diamond Award, Chinese Art Special Achievement Award, Chinese Art Hanmo Master, Meritorious Artists over 70 Years after the Founding of the PRC, Centurial Chinese Art Master, Contributor to National Cultural Construction, National Promotion Ambassador in Cultural Circles, Outstanding Contribution Award of International Literature and Art Peace Prize, World Art Lifetime Achievement Award and other honors, and has been invited as special presenter to host plenty of large-scale exhibitions, planning, design, production supervision and other activities.
Over the past 50 years of his art creation career, Mr. Zhang has comprehended the artistry of Chinese and Western philosophical and cultural essences: in this world, we must seek reasons for everything as long as it exists, and it is only time that could restore the beginning and end of everything, and identify its correctness or falseness. Browsing the art development from the perspective of history, all the "factions, doctrines and concepts" of any tide of the times are based on the re-examination and break-up of constrained and rigid ideological behaviors in the past historical periods and stages, in order to seek historical and national examination, integration and tolerance of diversified arts; however, no one could overthrow and change the extensional inertia between the then current trend art and the past art, and all kinds of words and deeds that seem to be breaking, rebelling, antagonistic, disconnected are exactly new life emerging from nonstop art evolution... Art is the idea of historical evolution.
